5 Pollen Street is an intimate 60-cover restaurant
discreetly tucked behind Hanover Square. The stylish, modern Italian menu is exquisitely intense, yet light and perfectly balanced.

5 Pollen Street is open from 12pm for lunch and dinner Monday to Friday. Our lunchtime set menu is a superb choice for business and social occasions in and around Mayfair. We also open for dinner on Saturday.

Formerly the Black Lion and French Horn Pub this refined Italian restaurant combines style and substance on every level. Following a full refurbishment, the restaurant opened in 2011 and gracefully blends a visually outstanding backdrop with a menu inspired by the simple yet creative style of Italian cuisine which will intrigue and satisfy in equal measure.

Appealing to a discerning crowd, the restaurant plays host to an exciting calendar of private events and parties. The exclusive venue hosted the launch party for the opening of the beautiful Missoni boutique on Bond Street - "such a pleasure to work with you all and it was a great success!"

5 Pollen Street is also a popular choice for corporate gatherings with de Morgan & Company among others choosing the restaurant - "the food and service was superb, in fact quite the best we have experienced in a very long time".

A versatile location with the option to book the entire 60-seat restaurant or the intimate 6-seat private suite, 5 Pollen Street is fast becoming the place in Mayfair for those who appreciate
something special.

MASSIMO TAGLIAFERRI

Hailing from Lombardy in Northern Italy, head chef Massimo Tagliaferri has worked in some of London’s most prestigious restaurants during his 20-year career including The Grosvenor House Hotel and The Dorchester. As sous chef to Gordon Ramsay at Claridges he was part of the launch team who earned a Michelin star in just one year. Refining his skills further at establishments such as Sartoria in the West End and most recently at the award-winning Enoteca Turi, Massimo’s experience, flair and innate knowledge of Italian cuisine brings the 5 Pollen St menu to life.

ROCCO CATALANO

A distinguished bar manager who has mixed cocktails at a host of prestigious London venues such as Nobu, the Blue Bar and Soho House, Rocco's knowledge ensures the finest drinks are served at 5 Pollen Street. Equally comfortable advising on the perfect wine choice for your meal, Rocco's confidence and talent never fails to impress.

5 Pollen Street commissioned internationally acclaimed British artist Gary Hume to create artwork for the dining room and bar. Renowned for his simplified forms and extraordinary use of colour, Hume's output has been celebrated for over two decades. Hume represented Britain at the 1999 Venice Biennale.

The artist has created three unique wallpapers fusing different motifs for each design. The first of these is adapted from the exuberant cheerleader imagery of his 'American Tan' series that began in 2007. By isolating the cheerleaders' legs, the artist has produced a striking pattern in silver, gold, yellow and pink. As well as the restaurant's wallpapers Hume created specially commissioned woven silk panels.

JANUARY 2012: THE INDIFFERENT OWL

Hume's current exhibition is on at the White Cube Gallery

'the inspiration for Hume's new collection of work being the epiphany of indifference experienced upon finding a deflated party balloon near to where he had heard the hoot of an owl'

'Buzzy atmosphere'

'Came here for a business lunch but would happily come here for a more informal occassion. Great food, buzzy atmosphere and the staff couldn't do enough. We chose from the a la carte but the set lunch menu looked excellent value.' Full review at toptable.com

'Full marks'

'Hidden away just off Regent Street, this is a little gem. Well designed menu, food excellent, wine list mostly Italian, perhaps a little pricey but we found an excellent red. Full marks. Highly recommended. Will definitely return.' Full review at toptable.com
